Nanjing Medical University (NMU), founded in 1934, is one of the top institutions of higher learning in China. As the name suggests, NMU is located in Nanjing, one of the four ancient Chinese capitals, a city which was a cultural, political and economical center in southern China and is currently the capital of Jiangsu province and an economical center in the Yangtze River Delta. Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge (the first combined bridge designed and built by the Chinese), the Nanjing Harbor (the largest inland one in Asia), Nanjing Lukou International Airport (35.8 kilometers away from the city center,with 85 domestic and international routes) and countless highways and railways make the city a traffic hub and its traffic easy and convenient. Mountains, water, ancient walls and green woods complement Nanjing’s beauty and richness. NMU consists of 16 secondary schools and 1 independent school. They are School of Basic Medical Sciences, School of Public Health, the First School of Clinical Medicine, the Second School of Clinical Medicine, the Third School of Clinical Medicine, the Fourth School of Clinical Medicine, Gulou School of Clinical Medicine, School of Stomatology, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Nursing, School of Medical Policy and Management, School of International Education, College of International Studies, School of Continuing Education, School of Higher Vocational and Technical Education and the independent institution: Kangda College.

NMU runs 16 undergraduate programs, 2 six-year dual bachelor’s degree programs, 3 seven-year programs, 55 master’s programs, 35 Ph.D. programs, and 3 post-doctoral research stations. In addition, NMU has 3 national key disciplines, 12 provincial key disciplines. NMU has a strong faculty team of 1501 registered faculty members, including 159 full professors, 344 associate professors, 132 supervisors of doctoral programs and 386 supervisors of master’s programs. NMU has 1 key laboratory co-established by the ministry and provincial government, 4 key laboratories at ministry level, 8 provincial key laboratories and research centers.

In recent years, NMU has launched an extensive exchange and cooperation with national and international higher institutions. School Facilities:

NMU comprises two campuses: Wutai campus and Jiangning campus. The former, about 80,000 sq.m in size, only five minutes’ walk away from downtown center Xinjiekou, is the center of research and graduate education. The latter, about 980, 000 sq.m in size, located in Jiangning University Town, is the center of undergraduate education. Subway and buses make its traffic very convenient. For the first three years, international students will study in Jiangning campus and then they transfer to Wutai campus to complete their study for another three years.

The library of NMU, as a medical center of JALIS and an integral part of Engineering Documentation and Information Center of Jiangsu Province, is abundant in medical literature. Our library is also a member of Chinese Higher Medical and Pharmaceutical Libraries, the kernel library of Jiangsu Medicine and Pharmaceutical, center of Jiangsu Higher Medical Literature and the Class 1 Consultation Station for retrieving literature in Chinese academic journals. Each campus has one library. The one on Wutai campus has two communicated buildings, 9000 sq.m in size.
Jiangning library was put in use in 2007, 25,000 sq.m in size, with 3000 seating capacity. By the end of 2006, the libraries have altogether 5,700 paper journals and 40,000 digital journals either in Chinese or in foreign languages. Besides, there are more than 620,000 paper books and 610,000 e-books stored here. The books are mainly in the fields of basic medicine, clinical medicine, preventive medicine and pharmaceutics, and books in biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, computer science, management, social science and literature are also included.

Soochow University is located in the ancient city of Suzhou famous for its classical gardens and known as “Paradise on Earth”. As a “State 211 Project” institution of higher education and Jiangsu provincial key comprehensive University, Soochow University has passed through one hundred years of its educational course. Originally founded in 1900, it merged with southern Jiangsu College of Culture & Education and the Department of Mathematics & Physics of Jiang Nan University in 1952 and became Southern Jiangsu Teachers’ College.

Jiangsu University was founded by combining the former Jiangsu University of Science and Technology (a key university), Zhenjiang Medical College and Zhenjiang Teachers’ College with the approval of the Ministry of Education of China in August, 2001. It is a teaching-and-research-oriented comprehensive university, strong in engineering disciplines. It is one of the first group of universities that offer doctoral programs and one of the Top 100 Universities in China. 

Currently, Jiangsu University has 24 schools offering 83 undergraduate degree programs in 9 academic fields: Engineering, Science, Medicine, Literature, Economics, Law, Management, Education and History. About China Medical University: 

The China Medical University (CMU) was the first medical school established by the Chinese Communist Party. Its precursor was the Chinese Workers’ - Peasants’ Red Army Military Medical School and Chinese Workers’ - Peasants’ Red Army Health School which had been founded in Ruijin city, Jiangxi province, in 1931. After the Long March with the red army, it moved to Shanbei. 

In 1940 comrade Mao Zedong proposed, and the central committee of the Chinese Communist Party approved, the name of the school being changed to China Medical University. In July 1946 the university was ordered to enter north-east China with the army and reached Xinshan city - now Hegang city - Heilongjiang province. In November/December 1948 the whole north-east of China was liberated and the university was ordered to move to Shenyang. In 1948 and 1949 it absorbed the medical school formerly operated by the (Japanese) South Manchurian Railway Company (the South Manchuria Medical College, later called the Shenyang Medical College which had opened in 1911) and the Mukden Medical College - sometimes spelled Moukden Medical College, which had been founded in 1892, see below. Shortly before it was absorbed its name was change to Liaoning Medical College. 

Language of Instruction:

China Medical University has been having the instruction of their medical program and other programs in English and Chinese since 1978. Jilin University (JLU) is a leading national university under the direct jurisdiction of China's Ministry of Education. Located in Changchun, the capital city of Jilin Province in North-eastern China, the University has eight campuses in five districts which are home to thirty-nine colleges covering eleven academic disciplines, including Philosophy, Economics, Law, Literature, Education, History, Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, and Management. The University boasts sixteen disciplinary areas, five national key laboratories, and eight national bases for the development of basic science. The predecessor of Norman Bethune Medical Science Division of Jilin University is the Bethune Medical University, founded by Marshal Nie Ronzhen in September 1939, in Tang county of Hebei Province, in the Jinchaji Anti-Japanese Resistance Base. It was named after the outstanding Canadian thoracic surgeon, Norman Bethune because of his selfless devotion to the set-up and running of the institution. For more than half a century, the institution has trained over thirty thousand medical professionals, and contributed a lot to the development of medical science and education and improvement in medicine and health work of China. 

After the merge of the universities, Jilin University lays much emphasis on the development of medical education. A two-level system of management has been established. Under the Norman Bethune Division of Medical Sciences, there are 8 schools, namely, the School of Basic Medicine, the School of Public Hygiene, the First Clinical School, the Second Clinical School, the Third Clinical School, School of Dentistry, School of Pharmacy, and School of Nursing, along with a Research Institute for Regenerative Medicine and a Centre for Pilot Animal.

Full-time undergraduate programs include Clinical Medicine (five-years, six-years or seven-years), Dental Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Radiology, Information Management and Information System (Medicine Information Management), Pharmacology, and Bioengineering. Currently there are 6150 students: 3146 in five- or six-year undergraduate programs; 799 in seven-year joint undergraduate and masters degree programs; 1521 in masters degree programs and 684 in doctoral programs. Medical Science Division presently has 5783 faculty and staff members, including 2225 teachers and technicians; 669 of them hold senior titles. It offers 2 post-doctoral programs (basic medicine and clinical medicine), 2 first-level doctoral programs, 24 second-level doctoral programs, 45 masters degree programs that cover all the specialties.

There are 82 doctoral and 377 masters degree advisors. The division has one national key discipline, one key laboratory of Ministry of Education, 14 key disciplines at provincial level. Neurology, Pathobiology, Immunology, Radiobiology, Endemic Diseases Study, Medicine of Healthy Birth and Sound Care, and Perinatology are among the best in China.

Centre for Human Genome Research, laboratories of Molecular Biology, Pathobiology, Radiobiology, and Isotope are open to domestic and international researchers. Four comprehensive clinical hospitals and one dental hospital serve as attached institutions. The total number of beds is 4055. The total amount of the equipments is worth 0.49 billion Yuan. The medicine professional library has a floor space of 8400 square meters, with a collection of 350 thousand volumes of books, and 2000 kinds of Chinese and foreign languages periodicals.

Since 1998, Medical Science Division has tackled ten national key problems in science and technology, and undertaken 635 National Natural Science Foundation and other ministerial level projects. The research funding amounts to more than 5 million Yuan. Each year, about 1500 papers are published home and abroad every year; number of articles indexed by SCI is increasing every year. There are three second-level and one third-level National Scientific Progress Prizes, 635 Provincial or Ministerial prizes, 3 National Teaching Achievement Prizes, 18 Provincial or Ministerial Teaching Achievements Prizes and 99 University Teaching Achievements Prizes.

The Division is active in International Cooperation and Exchange Programs, and has established ties with 26 educational institutions and academic organization in countries and districts such as Japan, Canada, America, Great Britain, Sweden and Hong Kong.
Southeast University (SEU) is one of the national key universities administered directly under the Ministry of Education of China. It is also one of the first universities accredited by the State Council to determine and approve the qualifications of professors, associate professors and doctorial supervisors. It is also one of the universities of Project 211 and Program 985 that is financed by the central government to build as a world-class university. 

Southeast University is one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in China. its origin can be traced back to 1902, when it was founded as Sanjiang Normal College. Then, it evolved as: Nanjing Higher Normal School, National Southeast University and National Central University. During the nationwide restructuring of institutions of higher learning in 1952, Nanjing Institute of Technology was established on the original site of National Central University. In May 1988, the university was renamed Southeast University. And in April 2000, Nanjing Railway Medical College, Nanjing College of Communications and Nanjing Geological School were merged into the university, whose main campus is located at the center of the ancient capital city of Nanjing, a sacred place for education since the Ming Dynasty. At present, Southeast University has campuses such as Sipailou ,Jiulonghu and Dingjiaqiao, covering a total area of 427 hectares.
Now, Southeast University has become a comprehensive university of high reputation comprised of various Schools&departments of science, engineering, art, social sciences, law, economics, management, languages, etc., with engineering as its focus. It’s research fund exceeded RMB 646 million in 2007. the SEU Architecture Design and Research Institute, which is one of the few national first-class design institutes, have undertaken various major projects. International cooperation & exchanges play an important role in the development of Southeast University. Weifang Medical University (WFMU) an university with a hunderd years of history is a state-owned medical university. It is located in Weifang - the international Kite Capital – at the center of Shandong Peninsula. WFMU covers an area of more than 1.2 million square meters with 570 000 square meters construction area. Over the past decades a comprehensive and multi-disciplinary pattern has been formed at WFMU which has offered a number of disciplines including medical sciences health management general sciences law and literature, with the medical sciences as the leading discipline. WFMU is authorized to grant bachelor and master degrees and recruit overseas students. WFMU has always focused on teaching and constantly improved quality. There is a Medical Research Center a Modern Educational Technology Center a Computer Center and an Animal Supplying Center. More than 10 000 sets of scientific and research instruments such as confocal laser scanning microscope(Zeiss) flow cytometer(Beckman Coulter) and image processor, which are worthy of over RMB 110 million.
There is 1 experimental demonstration center at the provincial level. There are 6 comprehensive teaching laboratories at university level: Morphology Function Chemicoanalysis Clinical Skills Computer and Human Anatomy and 16 specialty laboratories like Gene and Histology Engineering Dentistry and Nursing which are equipped with advanced Imaging PACS System Digital Network Interactive Laboratory Teaching System and BL-410 Biological Function Experiment System and so on.

The Experimental Center of Basic Medicine is an experimental and teaching demonstration center for universities in Shandong Province. Anatomy Medical Ethics Pathology Physiology Histology and embryology Pharmacology and Medical Imaging are assessed as the excellent subjects at provincial level. WFMU has undertaken 90 teaching and research projects at provincial level or above and has been awarded 24 prizes in teaching experiment and research since 2004.

In recent years WFMU has made many achievements in research.More than 340 research projects have been approved by the state authorities including 16 large projects sponsored by the Foundation of State Natural Science and the national key laboratory projects 40 projects granted by Provincial Natural Science Fund and Middle-aged and Youth Scientists Fund and 260 projects at bureau level. More than 220 prizes for researches have been awarded including 50 prizes for specialists at provincial level. More than 870 academic papers and 70 books are published each year. Over 30 achievements have been popularized for continuing education at provincial level or above. WFMU has got over 10 national patents and good social economic and social beneficial effects have been achieved.. The university library holds a collection of over 2.1 million books and 3 000 kinds of Chinese and foreign journals. There are 12 comprehensive affiliated hospitals.

International exchange:

The university has established extensive inter-relationships with many overseas universities such as Western State College in California of U.S.A, Ukraine Haerkefu State Academy Ukraine Haerkefu State Medical Academy, Ukraine Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy; RMIT and La Trobe University of Australia College of Saskatchewan of Canada, and University of Occupational and Environmental Health of Japan. More than 160 foreign experts have been invited to visit or teach at our university over 170 teachers have studied abroad and many staff have been sent abroad as the medical succor. More than 60 famous professors all over the world have been invited to be guest professors at the university. WFMU recruits overseas students every year and there are nearly 600 overseas students from Nepal India and Pakistan at present. It is also one of the universities which are authorized to hold HSK.


Sun Yat-Sen University or Zhongshon University is famous institute of higher education in China, established in 1924 by Dr Sun Yat-Sen, a great revolutionary of 20th Century. Initially, it was established as Guangdong University by Dr Sun Yat-Sen himself personally and later in 1926, renamed Sun Yat-Sen University, after his death in his commemoration. Sun Yat-Sen University is a multi-disciplinary, key comprehensive university of Chinese Central Government. It is under direct administration of Ministry of Education, China. It is among first ranked universities in China and has been accepted into " 211 Project" by the central government.

Approved by the Central government of the people's Republic of China, on October 26, 2001, the former Sun Yat-sen University and Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Sciences were merged together to form the present Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Sciences has been changed to Sun Yat-Sen College of Medical Sciences.
Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Sciences originated from Boji Medical School which was established in 1866 and was the earliest institution of learning and practice of western medicine in china. Dr Sun Yat-Sen himself studied medicine in this medical college.

The Guangzhou North Campus (The campus of former Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Sciences) out of the four campuses of the Sun Yat-Sen University is the campus for the students of Medical sciences. Zhejiang University: Introduction to Zhejiang University Located in the historical and picturesque city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang University is a prestigious institution of higher education with a long history. The Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) is a national key university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education of P. R. China, and is among the first Universities joining the national “211 Project” and “985 Project”. It was founded on May 26, 2000 as a result of the merger of the former Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Tongji Medical University and Wuhan Urban Construction Institute.

The affiliated Liyuan Hospital specializes in presbyatrics and is the research center of Geriatric Conditions of Hubei Province.

The history of College of Medicine of Yangzhou University can be traced back to as early as 1950. The predecessor of the college is Subei Health School, which grew into Yangzhou in 1958 and then Yangzhou Medical College in 1984. In 1992, Yangzhou Medical College, together with other 5 college, was merged to found Yangzhou University and became College of Medicine of Yangzhou University. The College consists of five bachelor's degree programs including clinical medicine, traditional Chinese medical science, clinical discipline of Chinese and western integrative medicine, nursing and pharmacy.

The clinical discipline of Chinese and western integrative medicine is the key discipline at provincial level, and seven disciplines (digest Internal medicine, cardiology, haematology, osteology, neurology, medical imaging and nuclear medicine and general surgery) are the key clinical specialties at provincial level. It possesses state-level endoscopy training center of Ministry of Health, and counseling psychology training base of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China. For now, there are 2210 full-time undergraduate, 220 master degree candidates and doctoral candidates and 44overseas students in the college.

Department of basic medicine

  At present, the department has staff of 47, including 33 teachers and 14 technicians. Among them, there are 5 professors and 18 associate professors. Seventeen teachers have doctoral degrees and fourteen are supervisors of master students. The department has 4 discipline groups: cell biology and biochemistry, physiology and functional experiment, etiology and immunology, pathology and pathophysiology. The department owns first-class discipline of basic medical sciences, which comprises of 4 key master's programs at university level in second-class discipline: human anatomy and histoembryology, physiology, immunology, pathology and pathophysiology. Till now the department of basic medicine has undertaken 65 scientific research projects, including 10 at the national level. The department Past five years published more than 120 articles, of which included 22 SCI papers, during the past five years.
Department of clinical medicine I

  This department comprises of following discipline groups: internal medicine, diagnostics, pediatrics, dermatology and sexually transmitted diseases prevention, and medical imaging and nuclear medicine. At present, the department has 137 teachers including 8 professors or chief physicians, 39 associate professors or associate chief physicians and 38 supervisors of master students. The experimental center for clinic medicine of the department is divided into physical diagnosis laboratory, dermatology and sexually transmitted diseases laboratory and clinical skills training center. Diagnosis and internal medicine are key courses of Yangzhou University. Twelve second-class master's programs were set up in this department, including internal medicine, dermatology and sexually transmitted diseases prevention, medical imaging and nuclear medicine, psychiatry and mental hygiene, emergency medicine, lemology, neurology, clinical laboratory diagnostics, oncology, oncology and recovery medicine and physiatrics. Digestive internal medicine, cardiology, haematology, neurology, medical imaging and nuclear medicine are key clinical specialty of Jiangsu Province. Till now, the department has undertaken more than 20 scientific research projects at national or province level, and gotten more than 30 Technology Achievement Award.

Department of clinical medicine II

  The department comprises of discipline groups of surgery and human anatomy & histoembryology. At present, the department has 101 teachers, 4 technicians, including 8 professor, 20 associate professors, 3 supervisors of doctoral student and 36 supervisors master’s student. The department posseses anatomy laboratory and general surgery laboratory. Seven second-class master's programs were set up in this department, including surgery, anesthesiology, sport medicine, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, field surgery, and human anatomy and histoembryology. General surgery and orthopaedics and tranmatology are excellent courses of adult education in Yangzhou University. The department is undertaking 20 scientific research projects at national or province level, and has gotten more than 30 Technology Achievement Award.

Department of obstetrics gynecology and reproductive medicine

  The department comprises of obstetrics and gynecology and histology and embryology and has 31 teachers, including 8 professor or chief physician, 10 associate professors or associate chief physicians, 12 supervisors of master’s student. The department has 3 master’s programs: obstetrics and gynecology, human anatomy and histoembryology, and reproductive medicine. The obstetrics and gynecology of this department is the key specialty of Jiangsu Province. Recently, the department has undertaken numerous scientific research projects at national or province level, and has gotten more than 10 technology achievement award.

Department of clinical discipline of Chinese and western integrative Medicine

  The department of Chinese medicine was founded in 1958 and renamed as department of clinical discipline of Chinese and western integrative medicine in February 2011. At present, the department has 18 teachers including 4 professors or chief physicians, 11 associate professors or associate chief physicians, 3 doctoral supervisors and 6 supervisors of master students. Among them, 9 persons have MD and 3 persons have master degree. The department has 2 discipline groups: basic science of discipline of Chinese and western integrative medicine and clinic science of discipline of Chinese and western integrative medicine. It sets up integrative Chinese and western medicine lab, traditional Chinese medicine specimens room and traditional Chinese medicine clinical demonstration classroom. In 1984, 5-year bachelor’s degree students professional in integrative Chinese and western medicine were enrolled. At present, 2 bachelor’s programs: traditional Chinese medicine and clinical discipline of Chinese and western integrative medicine are set up in this department. And the department owns 1 first-class discipline doctorate program (integrative Chinese and western medicine) and 1 first-class discipline master's program: integration of traditional and western medicine. In 2006, clinical discipline of Chinese and western integrative medicine was awarded the key discipline at provincial level. Recently, the department has undertaken numerous scientific research projects at national or province level, and has gotten more than 10 technology achievement award.

Nursing School

  Nursing school was founded in 1998 which is the first batch of 4-year nursing bachelor’s program in Jiangsu. As a feature specialty of Yangzhou University, nursing school was restructured in 2008 according to the idea of “emergence and mutual promotion between different disciplines”. The new nursing school has an emergence and mutual promotion development system. The school has 4 discipline groups: basic nursing, clinic nursing, preventive medicine and medical humanities. It sets up 1 nursing teaching lab, 6 nursing training teaching bases. At present, nursing school has 16 teachers including 1 professor, 7 associate professors. Among them, 3 persons have MD and 4 persons have master degree. The department has a first-level master’s program of prevention medicine and a second-level master’s program of nursing.

Department of Pharmacy

  In 2001, 4-year bachelor’s degree students professional in pharmacy were enrolled and the department of pharmacy was founded in 2002. It sets up 2 disciplines: clinical pharmacy and pharmacology and also found pharmacy teaching lab, research Institute of Yangzhou University on pharmaceutics, research lab of natural medicine and research lab of anti-inflammatory-immunity pharmacology. At present, the department has 2 technicians and 13 teachers, including 6 professors, 2 associate professors, 1 doctoral supervisor and 8 master’s supervisors. Now, it owns 1 bachelor’s program: pharmacy (clinical pharmacy) and 2 master's program: science of Chinese traditional medicine and pharmacology. The research fund is more than ¥1.1 million. The department is undertaking numerous scientific research projects at national or province level, and has gotten lots of technology achievement award.
Dalian Medical University (DMU) was founded in 1947, originally known as Guandong Medical College. In 1949, it joined with Dalian University and the name was changed into the Medical College of Dalian University. In 1950, the organizational system of Dalian University was cancelled and since then Dalian Medial College had become an independent college. In 1969, the college moved to Zunyi, a city of Guizhou Province, to establish the Zunyi Medical College. And in 1978, the college moved back to its original location in Dalian, still with the name of Dalian Medical College. In 1994, approved by the State Education Commission (SEC), DMU adopted its present name. Nowadays, the university has fledged into a multi-disciplinary medical university which also offers programs in other fields like arts, science, management, and law.
DMU occupies an area of 1,139,700 square meters, with the floorage amounting to 382,900 square meters. The total fixed assets is 224 million RMB, and all the teaching and research equipment and facilities are worth about 82.56 million RMB. The university now has 25 management organizations, 14 second-level schools, 4 directly affiliated organizations, 5 affiliated hospitals, 3 of which are indirectly under the university, and 38 clinical teaching bases.

By August 31, 2007, the total enrollment of undergraduates of the university has reached more than 4,400 and over 1,400 are candidates for Ph.D. Degree and M.S. Degree. About 700 are in higher vocational school, as well as nearly 300 are international students.

Currently, there are over 4,400 faculty and staff, doctors and nurses in the university, among whom more than 500 are professors and about 510 are associate professors, including over 500 Ph.D. and M.S. supervisors.
At present, there are 1 national key discipline, 1 provincial key discipline on the first-level, 15 on the second-level, 3 post-doctoral mobile station, 1 first-level discipline doctor program, 12 second-level discipline doctor programs, 5 first-level discipline master program and 50 second-level discipline master programs. Meanwhile, there is 1 ministerial research institution, and 1 ministerial lab, 5 provincial key labs, and 6 key labs for provincial universities. In addition, DMU possesses 12 bachelor-degree programs.

With the extensive development of exchange and collaboration programs with other universities and institutions at home and abroad, DMU has established collaborative relationships with 75 universities and 38 research institutions in 27 countries and regions, including The State University of New York (America), Curtin University of Technology (Australia), State Medical University of VolgaDnepr (Ukraine) etc.

Dalian Medical University offers a chiefly 5-year training program for medical students and a 3-year program for graduate students. The continuing education of Dlmedu has been developing very successfully. After over 50 years' endeavor, a series of well-structured disciplines with distinctive features has been established. There are 12 undergraduate specialties each with its own training objectives. The teaching and learning environment is nice. There are 12 colleges, 4 teaching departments, 3 divisions and 33 off-campus teaching bases , offering 58 major courses. Dlmedu aims at training qualified medical doctors and scientists and technicians of the 21st century. 

Colleges of Basic Medical Sciences (CBMS)

Founded in 1952 with the old name of "Basic Division" till 1996, got the present name thereafter. CBMS is comprised of 12 departments of basic medical sciences (they are departments of: Medical Biology, Human Anatomy, Histology and Embryology, Physiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Parasitology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, Microecology, and Hygiene) and the Department of Foreign Languages, and a Center of Instrumental Analysis. One characteristic feature of Dlmedu is her integrated laboratory of physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology, and it is included in CBMS. In CBMS there are 215 faculty and staff members, including 30 professors, 48 associate professors and 45 lecturers. CBMS has been authorized to offer PhD degrees in biochemistry, physiology, and pathophysiology with 10 tutors of PhD candidates, MS degrees in human anatomy, histology and embryology, physiology, biochemistry and molecular biology, microbiology, parasitology, pathology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and hygiene with 31 tutors of MS candidates. CBMS has 21 research branches working on different disciplines which all belong to the Research Institute of Basic Medical Sciences (see below). In recent years over 100 research fundings were obtained by fierce competition from State (National Natural Science Foundation of China), provincial, and municipal sources. In recent years, 82 research papers were published abroad in international journals, and 1238 research papers in domestic journals, a total of 78 scientific research and 9 teaching accomplishments were awarded different prizes by the state, provincial and municipal authorities.

College of Stomatology

Founded in 1985, with a staff of 80 members including 19 full and associate professors. Sixty four freshmen are recruited each year. Five department are included in this school, they are: basic stomatology, surgical stomatology, internal stomatology, repair stomatology, and orthopedic stomatology. It is equipped with many sophisticated surgical instruments. In recent years, 18 research projects have been funded from state, provincial and municipal sources. 

College of Cosmetology

Founded in 1987, and was the first college offering program for vocational training. Entitled to offer a 3 year training program in 1993, and a 5 year program in 2000. Teaching is divided into basic and clinical departments. Basic teaching is accomplished by the department of basic cosmetological medicine and two basic laboratories (ie, hair-beauty and make up, and skin caring). The courses opened include Cosmeto-psychology, Hair-beauty and Making-up, Fashion Aesthetics, and Art. Clinical training is accomplished by Department of General Clinical Cosmetology, and by Departments of Medical cosmetology (including Dept. of Surgical Cosmetology, Dept. of Pharmaceutical Cosmetology, Dept. of Physical Cosmetology, Dept. of Jing-luo Cosmetology, and Dept. of Exercising Cosmetology). The faculty of this school are well qualified and some of them are visiting professors from Japan, Taiwan, and Hongkong. The present enrollment is 484 students, and nearly 300 students have already graduated.

College of Health Administration

Founded in 1985, and now has 21 full and associate professors. Five hundreds of students have graduated since 1985, and a total of more than 2000 health administrators from other provinces have been trained by this school. Now it is entitled to offer master's degrees in 2 specialties. From 1998 on, the school has started to cooperate with Dalian College of Foreign Language to train students. In the same year, the school signed an agreement with New York State University at Buffalo to establish the Institute of Health Economy and the Institute of Behavioral Medicine. It has two specialties including Health Management, and Medicine Marketing. The courses opened include health management, health economics, epidemiology, health statistics and maths, medical ethics and psychology, and marketing of pharmaceutics. The enrollment is 200 in 1999.

Dept. of Laboratory Diagnostic Medicine

Founded in 1987, now has 40 dept members including 10 professors, 11 associate professors. Sixty four freshmen are recruited each year. It is entitled to issue MS degrees in biochemistry, immunology, hematology and medical diagnosis. There are 8 divisions, they are: medical physics, medical chemistry, clinical biochemistry, clinical microbiology, clinical hematology, clinical immunology, first and second departments of clinical laboratory diagnosis. It has one continuing training center, and 6 practice bases for undergraduates. The main research areas cover the molecular biology of tumors, and the innovation of diagnostic techniques. 

Dept. Of Clinical Pharmacy

Set up in 1993 with a teaching staff of 27 members of whom 8 are full professors and associate professors. It is divided into 3 teaching sections: pharmacy, pharmaceutics and clinical pharmacology. It enrolls 32 to 64 students yearly. The main disciplines are clinical medicine and pharmacology. And the main courses are pharmaceuticalchemistry, druganalysis clinical pharmacology and pharmacokinetics.

Dept.of Photography

Set up by Dlmedu and Japanese-China Friendship Association in 1993.The main courses are art photography, advertisement photography and portrait photography. Visiting experts from home and abroad are often invited to give lectures here. It enrolls 32 students yearly from all parts of China.

Dept.of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Set up in 1993 with a teaching staff of 54members, of whom 12 are full professors and associate professors.It is divided into 2 teaching sections and a reproduction research group and a genetic laboratory.The main courses opened are obstetrics, gynecology, reproduction endocrinology, perinatal medicine, eugenetics, female health care, family planning. It enrolls 32 students yearly.

Division of Social Humanities

Set up in 1986 with 14 teaching members among them 7 are full professors and associate professors. It is divided into 7 teaching sections. The Dept. offers 23 main courses for students of all levels. They are philosophy, economics , law, music, art and Chinese etc.

It has a teaching staff of 17 members 8 of them are professors and associate professors.The main courses offered are track and field,balls,gymnastics,swimming and skating.

Affiliated College of Dlmedu

Set up in 1999 and the first enrollment began the same year.It is located in a beautiful beach, with the construction of 19,000 square meters and equipped with 2 A.V classrooms.The total number of thefirst enrollment is 486 majoring in three specialties. The period of schooling is 5 years.

Nurse School of Dlmedu
Set up in 1946 with its own administration organization and its own teaching staff and teaching buildings. It has 8 specialties. The period of schooling is 3 years
Both of the two direct affiliated hospitals have been authorized to be the first-rank hospital. As the biggest comprehensive teaching hospital and emergency center in the south of Liaoning Province, the First Affiliated Hospital has won the honor of “National Top 100”. With the development of medical services, in 2003, the Second Affiliated Hospital successfully annexed China Petrochemical Industry Hospital Dalian Branch. Now, these two affiliated hospitals have gone into the leadership in China in the fields of multi-slice spiral CT (MSCT) coronary angiography, catheter ablation treatment for atrial fibrillation, integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in acute abdominal diseases, etc. Moreover, interventional thrombolysis treatment for cerebrovascular diseases and the transplant operation have also achieved domestic advanced level.
The new campus of DMU is located in the middle of the south of Lvshun Binhai Road. With 45 independent buildings, the South Campus is the main area for teaching, living and sports. The North Campus is the second programming project.

Carrying forward the history and initiating a new epoch, DMU is sparing no efforts to establish itself as an advanced, multi-disciplinary, multi-level and comprehensive teaching and researching medical university.

She has higher education majoring in “Financial management” Since 1994 she was working in system of higher medical education since. She finished clinical residency by “Pediatrics” specialty. Since 1994 she worked as an assistant of chare of hospital pediatrics of Semey State Medical Academy. In January, 2004 she defended a thesis in candidacy for a degree of Candidate of Medical Science on the theme: “Medico-genetic characteristic of child population of Semipalatinsk”. About University

Kazakh National Medical University is a university in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It is the no.1 medical institute in all of Kazakhstan.     \ MATERIAL  TECHNICAL BASE  KazNMU is the powerful scientific  educational complex, including 7 educational buildings, Centre of practical skills, Testing centre with 8 computer studies (102 computers, but 140 ones work during a session), a library (6 reading halls, book fund accounts 1065263 copies, electronic library, internet  study with 120 places). Annually Rector with Pro-rectors hold out-door conferences with the heads of Almaty, Zhambyl, Kzyl-orda, South Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, North Kazakhstan, Atyrau, Mangistau, oblasts and Almaty public health departments on the problems of training interns, training and retraining and advanced studies of doctors, pharmaceutists, nurses. Besides pedagogical workers of medical education institutions study at the advanced medical courses on the base of the Centre of continuous education.

    For the first time in the Republic of Kazakhstan the KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiarov developed competence focused model of medial pre-diploma education:

    We are now forming the process of a new University postgraduate educational model
    The University’s PTS realizes great methodical work in the scale of the Republic. For the reported period the PTS of the University took part in the development of 10 standard programs of 20 ones on disciplines of 5 course according to SOSE  2006. Departments developed educational  methodic complexes of disciplines for the 5 year course students of all specialties on SOSE  2006 for 2001-2012 years, and the commission of the Republican Health Ministry gave the positive assessment.
    The University passed State attestation in 2008 (order of Health Ministry of RK N 328 of 24.12.2008). In November 2008 the University applied for the National Accreditational Centre on passing institutional accreditation (N 2081-01-14, of 17.11.2008). According to the agreement N5 of 12.02.2010 the University completed procedure of self-assessment and writing an account, and now it is ready for passing institutional accreditation according to standard of NAC of RK Education and Science Ministry.
    Centre of analysis, monitoring of quality education and scientific grounding medical education reforms was created in 2010. The main tasks of the centre are monitoring of quality education at the University, working-out strategy and recommendations on the development of medical education in Kazakhstan, working-out proposals for compiling SOSE of new generation.
    The Centre organized teaching seminar “Teaching Excellence” for young teachers aimed at exchange of experience. The seminar was held within the frame of educational project which is sponsored by “The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs” of the American State department. The internet-conference in On-line regimen was held with the participation of Professor Uolter Klankloski from the University of South Caroline (the USA). More than 100 young teachers passed the training.
    Our University and Moscow State Technical University named after Bauman have started the combined “pilot” project on distance studying on the course “Biomedical technique and technologies”(01.10-30.10.2010). 15 teachers of the University passed the training.
    There were developed 2 sections of “University’s road map”, as: “Renewing and improving  educational programs”, “Increasing teachers’ potential of medical and pharmaceutical educational organizations” (17.03.2011).


    One of the priorities in KazNMU named after SDAsfendiyarov is to develop practical skills and communicative competence ofuniversity graduates. For this purpose, the university has opened modern Center of Practical Skills (CPS).

    Medical Simulation Centre is equipped with a wide range of teaching aids – from of simple fantoms fortraining basic clinical skills to interactive programmable simulators for complex team simulations, such as the SimMan 3G.
    Students’ clinical skills are assessed in the OSCE Center using standardized techniques and simulated patients. Examinable areas include initial interview with a patient, medical inspection, ability to make differential diagnosis and to choose the correct treatment tactics.American system of medical licensing examinations technology (USMLE, step 2 Clinical Skills) is adapted and used in OSCE Center. The Center has a system for recording simulations with subsequent analysis of actions of trainees (debriefing).
  • Department of Instrumental Functional Diagnostics aims to teach students, interns and residents the methods of diagnosis of various diseases using modern diagnostic equipment. To practice diagnostic skills virtual methods are used as well as real diagnostic instruments – devices for electrocardiography,spirography and electroencephalography.
    Emergency Medicine Center is designed for training skills in first aid and emergency not only for students, but for paramedics and civilians.
    The main aim of pharmaceutical center of practical skills is to form practical competences of a graduate-pharmacist of KazNMU. There competences are being farmed on different levels of education from the first year till the end of educational process.
    The of Pharmacy practical skills center mission of the Centre – is material – technical support for development and training skills of the future professionals. In line with the goals and objectives Center offers a variety of practical skills in the complexity of equipment and instruments pharmaceutical  industry from simple to high tech.
    In turn, in the center of practical skills in order to ensure the quality of the learning process methodic is carried out and is system engineering – maintenance
    introduced  (ITO), which provides uninterrupted operation of machinery and equipment classes DAPC.
    Center of practical skills in dentistry is designed to implement a new model of competence-oriented approach to KazNMU education.  The purpose of the Center of practical skills in dentistry is continuous updating and implementation of new training and thematic learning plans of school using innovative educational techniques, forms and methods of teaching students.
    Training for doctors of all specialties and covering all the levels from student to medical practitioners is held in the Center of communicational skills (CCS).  Teaching is in 3 languages – Kazakh, Russian, English. Center of communicational skills works with leading specialists. It is equipped with training rooms, modern equipment for interactive learning. The theoretical basis is associated with clinical activity
    CPS has a conference hall for 60 seats with modern projection device, two screens and Internet access for video conferencing.
    CPS has a development concept for 2012-2014 according to which it is planned to gradually increase the range of teaching practical skills from basic to highly specialized, from individual to team-based simulations. It will be done on basis of constant improvement of material equipment including modern simulators and diagnostic apparatus with the future transformation of CPSinto a regional methodical center on training practical, communicative skills.
    School of Public Health named after Khalel Dosmukhamedov has been established by the University Rector order in accordance with the decision of the Academic Council (Protocol ? 2 dated October 27, 2009). The school is a part of the scientific and practical educational base of KazNMU.

    The annual International Winter and Summer schools for undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students, training health care providers the principals of management, Education PPP on the introduction of new teaching methods, training the teachers some aspects of evidence-based medicine
    Centre of evidential medicine carries out its activity in accordance with the main international requirements of the evidential medicine and qualitative clinical practice. Its aim is implementation of principles and methodology of evidential medicine into the educational process, public health organizations’ activity and system of public health in general.
    Postgraduate education institute was opened by University Rector order according to the disicion of Academic Council. On the base of postgraduate education institute of KazNMU training and retraining medical workers and professorial  teaching staff is carried out. Fulfillment of state program on increasing qualification of medical
    organizations’ workers is realized according to the agreement with the Ministry of Health Care of RK (order of Ministry of Health Care of RK NN 310, 554), and on commercial base. According to republic budget program 014 “advanced training and capacity building development within governmental body of healthcare” 1777 people attended the course. Governmental purchase has successfully been implemented with 100% result – 132 022 651,00tg. According to the theme “Creation of first sanitary medical help centers for population” 707 people from 4 regions of Kazakhstan: Almaty city, Almaty region, southern Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda region  have attended the course. The total sum for this course reached 116 465 726,00tg. The total sum for paid educational services to the specialists of practical health care came to 82 902 434, 00tg.
    For carrying out “Asian games” during the period from 10.01  22.01.2011 on the base of the Centre of CCE on rendering urgent medical aid the doctors and staff of middle range of urgent medical aid passed training free of charge (111 persons)..
    On the cycle of “Management”chief doctors of hospitals, deputy chief doctors, economists and chief book-keepers were taught..

    School of Vaccinology is an educational center that provides new interactive forms of learning, designed to define new approaches to medical training in the field of infectious disease vaccine. Laying the foundations of the concept of continuing medical education in accordance with the best foreign samples and assist in improving people’s access to specific quality prevention of infection disease and maintain health.
    Goal: to improve  the professional knowledge and practical skills of students, undergraduates, doctoral students of KazNMU and other senior medical schools, practicing physicians Departments of Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, professional specialists of primary health care, treatment and prevention organization (pediatricians, internists, obstetricians and gynecologists, dental hygienists,

    The activities of the “School of vaccinology,” increases the number of trained medical personnel for immunization, increasing their educational and informational training, the level of sound awareness of the need for vaccination to protect against infectious diseases, lowers antivaccinology sentiment among the population, which ultimately leads to a reduction in the frequency of the most frequent and socially significant diseases, improving the index of children’s health, reduce mortality and disability, improve the quality of the gene pool, the quality of life.
    The Cagayan State University (CSU) is the largest state institution of higher learning in the Cagayan Valley Region, in terms of enrollment and number of curricular program offerings. The University was established through Presidential Decree 1436, later amended by Republic Act 8292 by the integration of all publicly supported higher education institutions in the province of Cagayan.

    The university is composed of eight (8) campuses in the growth areas in the three congressional districts of Cagayan; the Aparri, Lal-Lo and Gonzaga campuses in the 1st District; the Piat, Lasam and Sanchez-Mira campuses in the 2nd District; and in the 3rd District, the Andrews and Carig campuses in Tuguegarao City.     In March 2012, Dr. Romeo R. Quilang, former President of the Isabela State University (ISU), was elected by the CSU Board of Regents to serve as the CSU System's fourth president.

    History: The College was founded in 1993 and it is strategically located at its main campus in Tuguegarao City. The CSU College of Medicine envisions itself as a center of excellence in the region and in the country by providing the highest medical education to the health needs of the people. The first batch of students registered 100% in the licensure examination in 1999, thus, corresponding to its ardent vision of attaining quality medical education.

    Infrastructure and Departments: The current school year was a witness to constructive changes and infrastructure developments across the different campuses of Cagayan State University. A series of "circa 50" buildings, which serve not only as institutional facilities but as aesthetic icons, representing the university motto: "Educating for the Best", are now in the final phase of their construction process.

Additionally, overhead projectors and LCDs are available for Seminars and lecture workshops for productive learning.

    Center of Excellence The College of Medicine has distinguished itself by its performance in the licensure examinations, besting even Manila- based medical schools. The College of Law ranks a high 35 among the over 120 law schools in the country and has always have Bar Examination passers. The Colleges of Allied Health Sciences, Business Entrepreneurship & Accountancy, Engineering and Agriculture have contributed national topnotchers and have very commendable performances in Medical Laboratory Science (Medical Technology) Accountancy, Engineering and Agriculture, respectively. And the College of Criminal Justice Administration has posted a creditable percentage of passers in the licensure examinations.

    With at least 300 high calibered and renowned faculty members, this campus aims to produce the best professionals in various fields of specialization for national and international market as well demonstrated by its remarkable performance in board examinations for Agricultural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physical Education, Veterinary Medicine and Physicians’ Licensure Examination and in the National Competency (NC II) examinations for Automotive Technology, Food Technology, Garments Technology, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology and Electrical Technology.

    The Pre-Medicine Program of the College of Arts & Sciences, Cagayan State University, is a 16-month long accelerated program which prepares foreign students for the College of Medicine. Below are the admission requirements:
    1. Student applies to the College of Arts and Sciences through the Office of the College of Coordinator for Foreign Student Affairs, in coordination with the University Coordinator for Foreign Students submitting the following documents:
    1.1. Transcript of Records
    1.2. Diploma
    1.3. Certificate of Good Moral Character from School Last Attended
    1.4. Recommendation Letter from Previous Professors

    Student shall submit the afore-mentioned via-email. Original copies shall be submitted once admitted.

    2. The College evaluates the document and makes appropriate recommendations as to the Issuance of Notice of Admission
    3. The Dean together with the Campus Executive Officer recommends for Approval the Notice to the University President. The University Coordinator for Foreign Students content notes the said Notice and the President shall approve the same. Once so approved the College, through the Coordinator for Foreign Student Affairs, in coordination with the University Coordinator for Foreign students, shall issue Notice of Admission to qualified applicants.
    4. The College proceeds with the assessment of the student once proper confirmation is done.

    Medical Exams Required:
    ALL students are required have the following medical exams done in home country. And bring the detailed reports upon arrival to the Philippines.

    - Urine Analysis & Stool Analysis
    - Blood Serology tests - VDRL test (Veneral Disease Research Laboratory Slide Test) RPR test (Rapid Plasma Ragin Test)

    After successfully establishing Cebu Doctors’ Hospital, its core founders conceived the opening of a school of medicine as another venue of service that may have a significant effect and contribution to the welfare and progress of the nation.

    Through hard work and sheer determination, the Board of Directors of Cebu Doctors’ Hospital unselfishly devoted their time to secure from the then Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports, a permit to operate a medical school later called Cebu Doctors’ College of Medicine.

    On April 21, 1977, Cebu Doctors' College of Medicine (CDCM) incorporation papers were signed and its status as a non-stock, non-profit foundation was approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission on December 21, 1977.

    CDCM formally opened its doors as a medical institution in June of Academic Year 1977-1978. Out of the numerous applicants, only eighty pioneer freshmen were accepted. Since then, its Board of Trustees has pursued a program of expansion which continues to this date enabling CDCM to grow and earn its mark as one of the best medical schools in the country.

    On November 23, 2004, Cebu Doctors' College of Medicine officially became Cebu Doctors' University College of Medicine, with the acronym CDU-CM, after Cebu Doctors' College was granted University Status by the Commission on Higher Education.

    About Us
    The Southwestern University College of Medicine was formally organized during the first semester of the school year 1947-48, a year after the University was founded by Don Matias H. Aznar. At that time, the Philippines was still under the grip of acute economic dislocation occasioned by the just concluded global conflict. It started with 14 pioneering students and 16 members of the faculty. Full government recognition of the College of the Medicine was granted in 1951. The implementation of the Medical Act 1965 provided that all Medical Colleges in the Philippines be made into a foundation, thus a non-stock and non-profit institution. To comply with and implement the said act, the Southwestern University College of Medicine was converted into a foundation and was renamed Southwestern University Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine Incorporated.
    This college is so-named as an enduring monument to the memory of the late Founder. His dynamism, keen foresight, genuine concern for the youth and his abiding faith in his countrymen were the factors that made the University what it is today, a leading institution of learning in the Republic.
    Since it was established, the College of Medicine has produced several board examination topnotchers every year. The first graduate who got the 7th place in the board examination.
    was Dr. Diosocor Mancao. This year 2006, Dr. Maria Socorro Pino placed 7th in February Physician Licensure Examination. The College of Medicine students and faculty actively participated in Medical Research competitions. They consistently brought the highest recognitions in many years.
    The college also give recognition to outstanding alumni during the Annual Homecoming and Medical Convention spearheaded by the SWU-MHAM Medical Alumni Foundation. This foundation was organized in 1972, with a vision and mission to organize one potent force that help in realizing the aim of the Alma Mater to become the premiere medical institution in this part of the country.
    The Southwestern University Matias H. Aznar College of Medicine building is a six-storey modern edifice. It has a fully airconditioned modern Medical Library and three full airconditioned audio-visual rooms with seating capacities of 120, 250, and 300, respectively.
    the College of Medicine building stands on the eastern side of the four-hectare University campus beautifully landscaped with fruit-bearing trees.
    The rest of the buildings are connected by arteries of lawns where students can stroll and relax the day’s classroom grind.

    The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur holds the distinction of being the oldest state institution of higher learning in Northern Luzon. It was created through the enactment of Republic Act
    4449 authored by the late Congressman Floro S. Crisologo. Approved on June 19, 1965, the Act converted the
    Ilocos Sur School of Arts and Trades into what is presently known as the University of Northern Philippines.

    For convenient and enjoyable stay of local and foreign students, the following appropriate facilities are provided for such as sufficient housing and boarding facilities for both male and female student-residents, computer center for speedy internet service, athletic oval and gymnasium for sports and recreational activities, laboratory facilities with wide variety of simulations, audio-visual materials and models for research and experimentation. In addition, the UNP has a Guestel Building which is open 24 hours for guests. It has also a training center which caters to a large number of guests with 150 beds and with fully air-conditioned private halls and conference room. Similarly, the Open Cafe serves local and international delectable cuisine which is prepared by professionally trained chefs and servers. Not far from the campus is a five-minute drive to a commercial complex for convenient shopping and recreation for local and foreign students.


    1.   The Guidance Services program assists students in gaining awareness and deep understanding of their problems; hence, making intelligent decisions that will lead to self-direction. Similarly, the University recognizes the holistic development of the students by infusing moral values.
    2.   The foreign student services are designed to facilitate the foreign students’ adjustment and development in the University. Consultation and assistance for their needs, assistance in planning and implementation of their projects are provided.
    3.   The University encourages the publication of newsletters and journals to inform and to express students’
    opinions through creative writing.
    4.   The University recognizes the importance of right conduct and discipline of the students in the pursuit of education. Cases of misconduct and lack of self-discipline which are beyond the parameters of effective counseling process are referred to the Student Discipline which is in charge of the judicious implementation of the Student Code of Conduct and Discipline.


    The university provides its students with sufficiently comfortable housing facilities for both male and female student- residents. These dormitories are provided with bathrooms, kitchen and laundry areas. Aside from catering services, the university’s food and accommodation center also provides rental for physical facilities.


    At present, the University of Northern Philippines holds the distinction of being a Level IV University, the highest  level for State Colleges and  Universities in  the country,  duly accredited  and  certified by the Commission of Higher Education (CHED).

    It has collaborated with the University of Hawaii Kapiolani Community College for its exchange program in nursing. In Medicine, affiliate hospitals include Candon General Hospital, Salcedo District Hospital, Sta. Lucia District Hospital, Southern Ilocos Sur District Hospital, Sto. Nino Hospital, Cagayan Valley Medical Center, Candon City Hospital, Central Ilocos Sur District Hospital and the Ilocos Region Training Medical Center.

    UNP is recognized by Commission on Higher Education and Development (CHED), World Health Organization (WHO) and listed in International Medical Education Directory (IMED), Education Commission For Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). UNP is also recognized by Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC), Indonesian Medical Council (IMC), Maldives Medical Council (MMC), Medical Council of India (MCI), Nepal Medical Council (NMC), Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC), The Medical Council of Thailand (MCT) and other medical councils upon passing the required Medical Qualifying Exams or Screening Tes.


    History Dr. Antonio Laperal Tamayo, founder and his wife Dr. Daisy Moran Tamayo, co-founder together with their friend, Ernesto Palanca Crisostomo, established on February 5, 1975 in Las Pinas City the Perpetual Help College of Rizal, now the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Las Pinas. The first school building consisting of four floors (the present hospital) was constructed in a remarkable record-breaking period of only four months, which ordinarily takes one year to construct. The school building was created to house the College of Nursing. Around 700 nursing student were enrolled and a few were referrals from the Perpetual Help School in Manila. Perpetual was indeed on its way to becoming a premier university south of Metro Manila.  The organizational structure of the former Perpetual Help College of Rizal has interwoven within its fabric a closely-knit group of administrators and educators. The administrative expertise of Mr. Crisostomo, the educational and supervisory proficiency of former Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila acting President and the Perpetual – Biñan First Chancellor Benjamin L. Intal and former Bureau of Private Schools Regional Director Teofilo Gallardo were the forefront keys in the formulation of the institution. The other members of the founding group are the University’s First Chancellor Dr. Grace R. De Leon whose loyalty stood by and supported the founders in hurling the challenges of organizational growth; University Registrar Dr. Perla R. Sope, and consultants ADMU’s Emiliano Armas of the Ateneo De Manila University and the De La Salle University’s Oscar Bautista, Col. Jose C. Moran, father of Dr. Daisy, a Certified Public Accountant and former President of the Continental Bank, facilitated the needed funds of the project through his friends and the Development Bank of the Philippines, where he served as its first manager of branches and agencies. 

    In 1997, the Commission on Higher Education granted University status, thus the change of name to the University of Perpetual Help. 
    The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA is one of the subsystems complementing the University of Perpetual Help System. 
    The other subsystem is the University of Perpetual Help System JONELTA. University of Perpetual Help System JONELTA was founded and established by Dr. Jose G. Tamayo, as its first President and Chairman of the Board, with Co-Founder, Dr. Josefina Laperal Tamayo, as its Vice-Chairman and Treasurer. With both co-founders now deceased, the University of Perpetual Help System JONELTA is presently led by the first born of the founders, Dr. Antonio L. Tamayo. He is currently the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of UPH System JONELTA. Incidentally, he is also the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer the UPH System DALTA. 
    Dr. Tamayo earned his post-graduate courses in Hospital Administration at George Washington University in Washington D.C., supplemented with special studies on Hospital Management from Ateneo de Manila University, and a Ph. D in Organizational Development from the Southeast Asian Interdisciplinary Institute. 
    On June 10, 2003, the helm of leadership of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA was transferred to, Dr. Daisy Moran Tamayo as Second President. 
    Dr. Daisy Moran Tamayo is a holder of a Master’s Degree in Nursing from New York University, USA. She is also a doctorate degree holder in Organization Development from the Southeast Asian Interdisciplinary Institute. 
    Complementing the leadership and management functions of Dr. Antonio L. Tamayo and Dr. Daisy M. Tamayo are their two sons, Anthony Jose and Richard Antonio who are both outstanding cum laude graduates of the University of the Philippines. 
    Anthony Jose M. Tamayo assumed presidency of the UPHSD campuses on January 2010. He is a Certified Public Accountant, MBA degree holder from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and MA in Education degree holder from Harvard University. 
    Likewise, Richard Antonio M. Tamayo was appointed as President of the University of Perpetual DALTA Medical Center. He is currently finishing his Master of Business in Hospital Administration at Ateneo de Manila University. 
    In subsequent years, the UPHSD established two branches as well as several agri-businesses which later incorporated into the DALTA Group of companies. The units of DALTA Group are located in Las Pinas City; Molino, Cavite; and Calamba City in Laguna. It also has a Medical Center in Las Pinas City. 
    The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA– Molino was established and inaugurated in May 1995 with an initial enrolment of seven hundred students. Just a year after, the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA – Calamba was established in inaugurated initially with 360 enrollees. 
    The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA subscribes to the institutional philosophy that national development and transformation is predicated upon the quality of education of its people.
